The Sawaya family has lived in Colorado for over 100 years. Michael is the managing partner in the Sawaya Law Firm. He was elected to the legal honor society and awarded the Order of the Coif. He began practicing personal injury law in 1975, and founded his firm in 1977. He has worked extensively in all aspects of injury law with an emphasis in serious brain injury cases. He has been a frequent lecturer at Continuing Legal Education seminars. He has extensive trial experience and has handled thousands of personal injury cases.

He is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, American and Colorado Trial Lawyers' Associations, and the honor society of Phi Kappa Phi.

Michael is a certified Master Practitioner of Neurolinguistic Programming and incorporates this advanced communication technology both practically in the law office setting and with respect to the communication in the litigation setting.

Michael is admitted to the Bar of the State of Colorado, the United States District Court, and the United States Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals.
